Don't Let Your Emotions Fool You

When involved in a relationship people tend to let their feelings get in the way. Rather than simply enjoying each other's company couples start to analyze the partnership a little too much. It's common, our society is constantly drilling new ideas in our heads, like statistics of divorce rates, how men and women respond to step-kids, who should make more money in the relationship, and other useless facts that raise people's blood pressure. Today we will discuss how to keep your thoughts on the right track in hopes of making a solid lasting relationship.

Keep the Good Times Rolling

Have you ever been on a date and thought of something upsetting and then couldn't get it out of your head? If you have than you most likely never saw that person again because you thought it was an awful date. If this situation ever happens again, and the moment that you think of something terrible, block it with a thought of control. Here is an example: You're on a date with someone you find attractive and then out of nowhere you think about how your ex was attractive and how he cheated on you and then you begin thinking what if your date cheats on you. At that exact moment think about something that you have control over, like having sex with your date or not. Think about what it would be like having sex for the first time with your date. This completely shuts off that thought about your cheating ex and turns on the thought of a seductive daydream.

When to Keep Your Mouth Shut

Alright so you've been dating this person for a while now and you've picked up on their habits that don't quite sit well with you. Rather than saying exactly what's on your mind, think about it and how it makes you feel and then think about your habits and how you would feel if he/she would say something. Don't be conceited either, everyone has at least one dirty habit. If you still feel like you should say something to them say it with the up most consideration of their feelings and the outcome of the conversation, don't just lash out and expect them to just sit there and take it. But keep in mind that if this is a silly habit like not putting the clothes in the hamper, don't spoil your relationship on something stupid.

Who's the Boss?

It looks like you and your partner are going to be together forever, great! Maybe you'll have a couple kids together, get a house, a car, and maybe even a dog. This is the time where your thoughts go hay wire. Seriously, take everything one at a time. When you over load yourself with tasks and to do lists, this is the time where you might think you are doing everything. Not true, if you were to ever think you ARE doing everything, stop and think about what your partner brings to the table, how much they work and contribute to the relationship. You'll figure out that it is not all about the material objects and the money it's about truly being happy with one another and helping each other in every way.
