Let's face it. After a break up, you have this feeling of "I'll do anything to be with my ex" or "I can't live without this person". It's not a healthy place to be at. First off, if this is how you come across, then you have absolutely NO chance of getting back together with them. The reason is really simple. No one wants to be around someone who they feel pity towards, let alone get back together with them. It's just not an attractive characteristic.
The other thing that this kind of mindset does, is that everything seems grayer to you. You don't really feel like going out, and you just want to wallow in your own misery. Obviously this is just not healthy.
What would be a good cure? That's simple. Go on some dates. This helps accomplish many things.
First off it gets you out of the house. You could have a good time. You meet some interesting people. You get your mind off your ex. You can have a semi-romantic couple of hours with somebody else (even if its on a silly shallow level).
Lets face facts. After a break up, you tend to lose some of your mojo (for a lack of better word) and you just want to be able to get it back. Nobody is saying that these people you date will have to be the love of your life and you can forget about your ex. All I'm saying is that it's a great way to escape the funk that you're in right now.
